Following a real desire to develop the visibility of economic operators and the general public vis-à-vis the legal framework governing Tunisian-African trade cooperation, the Africa department at the Tunisian Ministry of Trade and Export Development has implemented this platform in collaboration with the GIZ.
Agreements are multiplying at all levels. Thus, Tunisia shows a real desire to increase the volume of trade with various sub-Saharan countries.
The cooperation began a few years ago through actions between the Tunisian Ministry of Commerce  Trade and various African actors, in partnership with the AU, COMESA, GIZ ...
This approach mainly affects sub-Saharan Africa and concerns products and services, particularly in vocational training, education and teaching, ICT, energy, health and care services, construction, and public works.
The Africa Department within the Ministry of Trade and Export Development coordinates with national and international agencies. It plays a leading role in end-to-end trade negotiations.
This entity has a team of traders specializing in the negotiation of trade agreements beneficial to Tunisia.
Stronger ties between Tunisia and sub-Saharan countries have been fostered by the opening of 5 commercial representative offices in different African capitals, by the opening of embassies, and by opening new, direct air routes.
This platform embodies a real partnership between the Tunisian Ministry of Trade and Export Development and GIZ within the framework of the PEMA project, to facilitate access to information on trade agreements concluded or under negotiation with Africa and the follow-up of the other activities of the Africa department at the Ministry with a view to developing exports to sub-Saharan countries.
